Why does DA hate me?

Soooooo... they implemented the new comment system this week. NOW I CAN'T COMMENT ANYMORE. I understand that my more than 5 years old system is well OLD and unsupported and some functions won't work on it, but commenting is a big f-cking deal, as it's the basis of my community life so if it doesn't work that cherished experience they like to go on about dies horribly.

Why isn't there an opt out?

Or at least a workaround?

Why is it than when Sta.sh Writer gets implemented in a main page function it stops working (on my system)?
- I mean this journal is written in Sta.sh Writer directly it works, but if I try writing journals from the journal menu it won't load (blank page; I get this with the new comment system too, but for journals there ARE workarounds, for commenting not so much).

What would I expect from an artsite? (The ones flagged with NW are currently flat out not working for me on , WA only with workarounds):

- Viewing (I don't even expect video playback), downloading (if the artist is cool with it), faving, and commenting (NW) the works of others; uploading (WA),  changing/editing informaton (NW, except journals), and deleting my own; following artists and a search function. And that's about it. Yeah. I'm sooooo unpleasable. :/
